2nd tele-meeting (18th November 2014) – “For what reasons and in what ways is Socrates received in Aristophanes’ Clouds?”

On Tuesday 18th November 2014 at 16:00, a tele-meeting was held at the Center for the Study of Myth and Religion in Greek and Roman Antiquity of the Department of Philology, University of Patras, with members of the academic community of Ohio University. The topic of the tele-meeting was the Attic drama and specifically the reception of Socrates in the comedy Nefeles of Aristophanes (“For what reasons and in what ways is Socrates received in Aristophanes’ Clouds?”).

On Tuesday 8th October 2015 at 15:00, a tele-meeting was held at the Center for the Study of Myth and Religion in Greek and Roman Antiquity of the Department of Philology, University of Patras, with members of the academic community of Ohio University. The topic of the tele-meeting was the Athenian Democracy and specifically whether the decision of the Athenians to use the allied fund’s money for the construction of the Acropolis was the right one (“How the Athenians paid for the Parthenon: Does it really matter?”).

2nd tele-meeting (20th October 2015) – “Is Greek Tragedy Dead or Alive Today? The Paradigm of Medea.”

On Tuesday 20th October 2015 at 15:00, a tele-meeting was held at the Center for the Study of Myth and Religion in Greek and Roman Antiquity of the Department of Philology, University of Patras, which hosted the event and the “Jocasta Classical Reception Greece” in collaboration with members of the academic community of Ohio University. The topic of the tele-meeting was the reception of ancient Greek tragedy and specifically whether the tragedy continues to survive and have an impact on the present with particular emphasis on the reception of Euripides’ Medea (“Is Greek Tragedy Dead or Alive Today? The Paradigm of Medea”).
