Electra e-journal is a periodical electronic edition published by the “Centre for the Study of Myth and Religion in Greek and Roman Antiquity”, founded by the Patras University Department of Philology. Electra invites submissions of scholarly articles that explore Ancient Greek and Roman Mythology and Religion from various perspectives, including philological, historical, anthropological, archaeological, linguistic, or philosophical viewpoints. Submissions should be original and unpublished, and can be in English, French, German, Italian, Spanish or Modern Greek. All articles undergo a rigorous double-blind peer-review process by specialized referees to ensure the originality and quality of their content.
CALL FOR PAPERS for Electra vol. 6 (2024)
The sixth issue of Electra will focus on “Human Sacrifices in Greek & Roman Antiquity” and is scheduled to circulate towards the end of 2024.
Contributions are invited from scholars interested in this topic, and submissions should be fully anonymized.
Please send your contributions to electrajournal@gmail.com, strictly by Sunday 6th October 2024. Please note that no extensions will be granted. Submissions that are not fully anonymized will not be considered.
Authors are encouraged to explore the subject from literary, archaeological, anthropological, or socio-political perspectives. Contributions may be submitted in Modern Greek, English, French, Italian, German, or Spanish. The word limit is set at a maximum of 8000 (including footnotes but excluding bibliography).
In addition to your contribution, please send an abstract (max. 200 words) and up to five keywords in a separate, anonymized file. For formatting and style guidelines, please consult and comply with the format of Electra’s last issue: no. 5 (2020) Asclepius.
